As the pandemic world shut down in early 2020, adventurous producers like Santa Fe Opera’s Opera for All Voices program, helmed by Andrea Fellows Fineberg, gave us the go-ahead to create an abridged version of This Little Light of Mine. We performed the opera in New York Harbor, aboard the historic oil tanker Mary A. Whalen while observing the strictest pandemic guidelines of the time.
